OUR ROOMS

Each room at Magpie Residency follows the same core idea—keep the stay simple, comfortable, and quiet. The spaces are clean, well-ventilated, and designed to let the surroundings do most of the work. Expect a calm atmosphere, natural light, and views that encourage you to slow down rather than stay occupied. We avoid overloading the rooms with unnecessary inclusions, so your base experience remains uncluttered and fairly priced. From there, you can choose to add specific experiences if and when you want them. Different rooms may vary in size, layout, or vantage point, but the underlying promise remains the same: a peaceful stay with the freedom to shape your time your way.

ADVENTURE SPORTS

River Rafting

River rafting on the Teesta adds a sharper edge to an otherwise slow, quiet stay. The stretch offers a mix of gentle flows and moderate rapids, making it suitable for both first-timers and those with some prior experience. Runs typically pass through forested valleys and open riverbeds, with clear views and relatively consistent water conditions. Sessions are guided, with basic safety gear provided, and can be arranged based on season and river level. It works well as a half-day activity if you want to break the stillness with something more active, then return to the calm of the hills.

Paragliding

Paragliding from Deolo offers a controlled, scenic aerial break from the otherwise slow rhythm of the hills. Flights usually launch from Deolo Hill, with wide views of Kalimpong, the Teesta valley, and surrounding ridgelines. Conditions are generally suitable for tandem flights, making it accessible even for first-timers. The experience is short but steady, focused more on gliding than adrenaline. Sessions are weather-dependent and handled by trained operators with standard safety gear. It fits well as a brief, elevated activity before returning to a quieter pace.
